Sorawich Pongpiyapaiboon

He is a Ph.D. candidate at the Laboratory of forage grass genetics and breeding, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Agriculture and Engineering, University of Miyazaki, Japan. He specializes in applying digital technologies for crop phenotyping to support plant breeding.

His research focuses on extracting morphological traits from digital 3D models for high-throughput plant analysis. He has developed algorithms and pipelines for trait extraction and growth pattern analysis, integrating these data with genetic information to improve the evaluation and characterization of turfgrass and forage crops, particularly Zoysia species.
