The GCSAA and BIGGA have both approved the 2026 conference education program for continuing education points.

I’ll provide the event approval code to GCSAA members at the end of the conference.

Conference golf tournament at Laem Chabang

This year’s conference features the inaugural STMIA golf tournament. I’m really looking forward to this, and I’ll be looking to make some birdies too.

To sign up for the golf tournament, which is limited to 144 participants, indicate your participation on the registration form, or contact the Thai GCSA directly to reserve your place.

Here are the details.

Shotgun start on Tuesday, March 10, at 13:00 on the A-B courses of Laem Chabang International Country Club, after the morning field day and lunch at the same venue
Individual competition, with post-round handicap calculation by the System 36 method
Entry fee 4,000 THB per person including caddy, cart, and green fee
A multitude of prizes, which include low gross, low net, women’s flight, men’s flights A, B, and C, based on handicap of 0–12, 13–18, and 19–24, and a special award for the worst score
closest to the pin prize on two holes
hole in one prize on two holes
long drive prize on two holes
men playing off the white tees and women off the red tees
multiple tee stations from sponsoring companies

And how about the grass types we will be playing on? How’s this for a combination! The A and B courses at Laem Chabang include nine holes with Tifeagle and nine with Tifdwarf on the greens, nine holes with Zeon fairways and nine with seashore paspalum (or pasmuda), and the original bermudagrass rough. Tees I think are paspalum. Not only is this a chance to have fun, win prizes, make birdies, and enjoy time with industry colleagues, but we can also see a lot of variety when it comes to golfing surfaces as well.

Cowboy theme for the conference dinner

Saddle up for the 2026 conference dinner! We’re excited to announce that the Monday night dinner at Sustainable Turfgrass Management in Asia 2026 will have a cowboy theme—so dust off your boots, dig out that bandana, tell your friends, and bring a hat if you’ve got one.

The dinner is one of many networking events at the conference, and will be held at the Amari Pattaya on Monday, March 9, starting at 18:00.

What to Expect:

A hearty meal with a range of cuisines under the stars
Great company and conversation with turfgrass professionals from around the world
A lot of smiles
Optional cowboy attire encouraged (but not required!)

Whether you show up in full Western gear or just come as you are, the goal is simple: good food, good people, and a memorable evening in Pattaya.

The Thai GCSA have arranged rooms at these rates for the conference, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can make the booking directly with the hotel informing them of your attendance at the conference. If you have any problems making the booking, you can contact the Thai GCSA.

OZO North Pattaya, 2,700 THB per night
Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort, 2,400 THB per night
ibis Pattaya, 1,300 THB per night

All these hotels are conveniently located for conference activities. The seminars will be held at the conference rooms located on the grounds of the Amari and OZO hotels, between the two buildings.
